The meeting point is at the Museum entrance along the street, not inside the courtyard: the guide holds a yellow sign with «TOUR» written on it. From there, it's 2 hours in the rooms with a licensed local tour guide, among mummies, coffins, the statue of Ramses II and the tomb of Kha and Merit, a couple buried together. On GetYourGuide it has 4.8 out of 5 with 1,343 reviews and starts from $77 per person (October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

The price includes the guide and the entry ticket. The Museum's official ticket costs €18 full price in 2026, is bought online only for a time slot (you enter within 15 minutes of the chosen time, not before) and is non-refundable. The tomb of Kha and Merit is in Room 7, rearranged and inaugurated on 4 December 2025; the Piramidion with Kha's name, on loan from the Louvre, remains visible until February 2027, according to the Museum.

Some conditions from the listing: the tour starts with at least 2 people, minors must be accompanied by an adult and some parts may not be easy to reach for those with reduced mobility, so it's best to contact the operator if you have doubts. It runs in any weather. Hotel transfer is not included.

• The Museum's cloakroom is suspended due to works: no suitcases, trolleys or large backpacks. Small backpacks and bags with personal items can be brought, according to the Museum's FAQ.
• If you have mobility needs, write to the operator before booking. In its rooms, the Museum declares the absence of architectural barriers and a lift for every floor, as reported on the Museum's accessibility page.
• The Sale Storiche on floor -1 have been closed to the public since 12 December 2025, as reported by the Museum's notice: no guided tour includes them as long as they remain closed.
