To enter, a booking is required. The ticket is bought online only and is valid for a specific time slot. We report the opening hours as published on the Museum's Opening Hours page, the special openings of October 2026 and the duration of the visit.

Yes, on Saturdays until 20:00, for all of 2026. On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026, there is extended opening until 22:00.
These are the evening openings published by the Museum in October 2026. For other dates, including Museum Night, we do not have an official calendar to report. The evenings and promotions with their dates we collect in the article on free entries and promotions in 2026.
A note for those with specific needs. On its accessibility page the Museum recommends these people the late afternoon or evening slots, when there are special openings, and to avoid weekends if possible.

Is booking mandatory for the Museo Egizio?
Yes. The ticket is bought online only, even the free one, and nothing is sold at the ticket desk.
The Museum writes this at the top of the tariffs page: «Online ticket purchase is mandatory». It applies to everyone, from those paying full price to those entering for free on their birthday. Even those with Abbonamento Musei or Torino+Piemonte Card take an online «Ingresso CARD» ticket and show it at the ticket desk with the card.

On the Museum's online ticket shop: choose the day, the time slot, and the tariff, then pay online.
- Open the official website, museoegizio.it, and follow «tickets & shop»: it leads to egizio.museitorino.it, the Museum's ticket shop.
- Choose the day and the time slot. For the visit date, the time matters: you enter within 15 minutes, not before.
- Choose the tariff: full price, reduced, free, or «Ingresso CARD» if you enter with a card.
- Pay and bring the ticket, with the document that justifies a reduction or free entry.
The Booking Office responds Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 to 18:00, at 011 4406903 or [email protected]. It is for guided tours in foreign languages and for groups.
On the online shop you also find the Museum's guided tours and special events, such as «Be the First», from 5 to 8 December 2026: an early entry compared to normal opening. That ticket cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The Museum does not indicate a minimum advance. In October 2026, the online shop sells entries for dates up to 6 January 2027.
We have no data on days when tickets sell out, and we do not invent any. The time matters: choose a slot that gives you time to arrive, because a delay may cost you entry and the ticket is non-refundable.
If your dates are not certain, remember how the rules change. GetYourGuide tours include the ticket and can be cancelled for free up to 24 hours before, or up to 2 days before for the private tour. The ticket bought from the Museum cannot.

How long does it take to visit the Museo Egizio?
About 2 hours according to the Museum; the ticket shop estimates about two and a half hours for a free visit.
The Museum specifies that this is an indicative time: it depends on how long you stop in a room or on a single object. The exhibition spaces are 12,000 square metres across 4 floors, with around 3,300 objects in the rooms and around 12,000 in the Gallerie della Cultura Materiale.
Factor in Monday: it closes at 14:00 and last entry is at 13:00, so to have two full hours you need a morning slot. GetYourGuide guided tours last from 2 to 3.5 hours, according to the listing.

Two hours with an expert guide in a group of up to nine people, all of the same language, with the entry ticket. Departure from Piazza Carignano.

The Museum does not publish visitor flow data, so we can only give you the opening hours. Saturday is the day with the longest opening, until 20:00.
We do not indicate a «best day» or a time with fewer people: there is no official data. There are, however, useful facts to help you organise. Inside, it is about 24 degrees all year round, for the conservation of the objects. The cloakroom is suspended due to works, so in winter your coat stays with you. And on Sundays the Museum is open, from 9:00 to 18:30. For a mid-visit break, there is «Pausa Caffè», with access from room 7, the tomb of Kha.
How to get there, what to bring and what to leave at the hotel is in the guide to how to get there.
