How do the Museum's fixed-time visits work?

These are 90-minute visits with an Egyptologist, in groups of up to 25 people, at times decided by the Museum, with disposable earphones.

In Italian, there is «Viaggio nell'Antico Egitto», at €7 per person plus the ticket, and there are themed and family visits, always in Italian. In English, there is «Travelling in Ancient Egypt», in French «Voyage en Égypte ancienne»: the price is on the ticket shop. These visits are not available for school groups.

How much does a private tour with a Museum guide cost?

For 1-6 people in Italian: €50 for 60 minutes and €85 for 90 minutes, per group, plus the entry tickets. In English, French, German, or Spanish, it starts from €70.

Visits in Italian for 1-6 people are bought online; those in foreign languages only by phone or email, at the Booking Office (011 4406903, [email protected]). For 7 to 25 people, booking by phone or email is always required, and the group uses radio headsets.

The figures are per group and do not include the tickets. Advance booking and payment are mandatory, even for external guides: the Museum charges €10 per group for the booking and €1 per person for the radio headsets.

In Italian or another language?

With the Museum, visits are bought online only in Italian; English, French, German, and Spanish are booked by phone or email. On GetYourGuide, the language depends on the listing.

The small group tour forms groups of one language only. The one with the licensed guide offers multiple languages, including French: check the dates in the listing. The group tour in Italian uses radio headsets, so the guide speaks softly and you hear well.

With the Museum, for groups of 7 to 25 people, foreign languages have a separate price list: from €95 for 60 minutes, plus the entry tickets.

Is the guided tour suitable for children?

Yes, there are visits designed for them: the Museum's family visits, workshops for children aged 5 to 11, and a GetYourGuide tour recommended from age 8.
