We do not give you a timetable with the time of each stop. We do not know your trains, and the Museum does not publish data on attendance. We give you the fixed points: the hours, the time slot rule, the stations and the city visits you find on GetYourGuide.

Opening hours come from the official page, walking times from the how to reach us page of the Museum. The other visits are described with the words of their listings.

The answer in brief

Book the Museum first: you enter only with an online timed ticket, within 15 minutes of the start of the slot, and the ticket is non-refundable. The visit lasts about 2 hours, 2.5 hours according to the ticket shop. On Mondays the Museum closes at 14:00, on Saturdays at 20:00, on other days at 18:30; last entry is one hour before. From Porta Nuova it is 10-15 minutes on foot. In the city you can combine Palazzo Reale, the Cinema Museum or a city centre tour with a guide.

How much time do you need for the Museo Egizio?

About 2 hours according to the Museum's FAQ, about 2.5 hours for a free visit according to the ticket shop; the guided tours on GetYourGuide last from 2 to 3 hours.

In one day the Museum takes a morning or an afternoon. The tours with a guide have a fixed duration, written on the listing. Departure times change with the date and are visible when you check availability.

Inside the Museum there is Pausa Caffè, the refreshment point accessible from room 7, with coffee, drinks and sweet and savoury food. The MuseumShop is right after the entrance, on the left, and can be visited even without a ticket.

What to see in Turin after the Museo Egizio?

Among the tours on GetYourGuide, three combine with the Museum: Palazzo Reale with audio guide, the Cinema Museum with the tourist bus and the Museum visit with a city centre tour.

The Museum does not sell combined tickets with other museums. The city's tourist card is the Torino+Piemonte Card, but it is not sold at the Museum. The three options below are listings from operators on GetYourGuide, each with its own rules.

Palazzo Reale has no live guide and no meeting point: you go directly to the entrance at the booked time, and temporary exhibitions are excluded unless indicated. The Cinema combination does not include the Mole Antonelliana panoramic lift; tickets for under-16s are only bought at the museum and last entry is one hour before closing.

What is the Museo Egizio visit like with a city centre tour?

It is three hours with a licensed guide: first the Museum in a small group, then one hour on foot in the centre, with San Lorenzo, Piazza San Carlo and Galleria Subalpina among the stops on the listing.

The meeting point is in front of the Museum entrance, at via Accademia delle Scienze 6, 15 minutes before; anyone late is not admitted. Entry tickets and earphones from 8 participants are included; tips, food and drinks and hotel transfer are excluded. The listing specifies that the Museo Egizio is not the provider of the tour: it is organised by an operator. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, while the official Museum ticket is non-refundable.

It has a rating of 4.9 out of 54 reviews. If you are only interested in the Museum, the two-hour guided tour has the same meeting point, and the small group tour starts from Piazza Carignano.

What to bring for a day at the Museo Egizio?

Little: the cloakroom is suspended due to works, and suitcases, trolleys and large backpacks are not allowed; a small backpack or a bag with personal items is allowed.

If you arrive by train with luggage, think beforehand about where to leave it: the Museum cannot keep it. There are a few small lockers, only for school-type backpacks, not bookable. Before the ticket desk there is a bag check; scissors, blades, files and pocket knives are handed over to security and collected at the end of the visit.

Inside it is about 24 degrees all year round and there is no dress code. Photos and videos are allowed, without flash and without tripods. The tours on GetYourGuide also have their own rules: several listings exclude suitcases, large bags and backpacks, and the Palazzo Reale one asks you to bring an ID document.
